Most people take access to information technology for granted. But for residents of Southeast Chicago the Digital Divide is a very real problem that limits employment, education and even healthcare opportunities.
Digital Divide is a term used to define the gap between people with access to information technology and those with limited or no access at all.
In cooperation with the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), SEDCOM operates computer resource rooms and provides instruction in workplace computer skills. Over 10,000 people each year benefit from these services.
