The Southeast Chicago Development Commission (SEDCOM) is a 501(c)(3) Illinois not-for-profit organization.
Our services and programs address community need in a holistic fashion, seeking to reduce or eliminate socio-economic barriers that keep residents of our communities from sharing in the American dream.
SEDCOM also serves as the “Voice of Southeast Chicago” through publication of the Southeast Chicago Observer, the area’s leading community newspaper.
Our goal is to touch peoples’ lives in a way that leads to strong and vibrant community spirit, economic vitality and long-term health and prosperity.
